This week it was brought to Oklahoma State University’s attention two state entities have been the targets of phishing scams aimed at fraudulently changing employee direct deposit information . With this in mind, OSU is implementing the following steps to reduce the risk of OSU employees being subject to payroll fraud.
1. New Employees – Hiring officials should continue to print New Employee Payroll Sign-Up Forms, including the Automatic Deposit Transmittal Form, found on the Human Resources website, https://hr.okstate.edu/hr/new-hire-info. Completed payroll sign-up packets are sent via sealed business envelope marked “Confidential” to OSU Human Resources, 106A Whitehurst, Stillwater, OK 74078. Questions? Contact [log in to unmask].
2. Current Employees – current employees who wish to change their direct deposit information should log in to the Employee Portal, http://my.okstate.edu, and download an Automatic Deposit Transmittal Form. Completed forms should be mailed or hand delivered to Payroll Services, 409 Whitehurst, Stillwater, OK 74078. Upon receipt of the form, Payroll Services will contact the employee via their OSU e-mail requesting a reply to verify the change was initiated by them. Current employees can also request a paper copy of the form by contacting Payroll Services at [log in to unmask] and providing their Name and Banner ID (CWID) so the form can be sent to their OSU e-mail.
